2 suspects in Ram Revilla slay already in police custody

Authorities already have in custody two suspects in the killing of Ramgen “Ram" Revilla, son of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., even as the Philippine National Police (PNP) is searching for as many as three other suspects. Ram Revilla, 22, was stabbed and shot dead in his house at BF Homes Parañaque sometime after 11 p.m. last Oct. 28. PNP-Parañaque chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran said the suspects in their custody and those who remained at large were probably the same age as the victim, but he refused to name them. Beltran also said that while investigation for now has shelved the “love triangle" angle as a motive, they are still looking at robbery or revenge as possible motives. “In the past, meron kasi mga istorya na meron daw silang nakaaway o meron nagka-samaan ng loob," he told GMA News TV reporter Marisol Abduraman on “24 Oras." He said they would be asking the victim’s sister, Ramona, to give more statements to shed light on the case. He said the crime had nothing to do with money or show business. “Ram was really the target," Beltran said, adding that the police had already interviewed the victim’s girlfriend, Jonelle Manahan, who was with the former actor turned aspiring politician and was herself shot. She is recovering at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa. The victim’s half-brother, Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla, confirmed that nothing was taken from Ram’s home, saying “even [in] the other rooms [the perpetrators took nothing] baka pagpatay, takbo." The gun that was found in the crime scene has already undergone ballistics tests. The police say the P500,000 reward money put up by Ram’s half brother, Senator Ramon “Bong" Revilla Jr., for information leading to the arrest of the other suspects would be of much help. — MRT/KBK, GMA News
