Pacquiao’s net worth 28,000 times more than poorest solon’s assets

Even at the House of Representatives, the wide gap between the rich and the poor is clear. World boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao declared a net worth of P1.3 billion last year, or 28,000 times more than the assets of his poorest colleague in the House.   Anakpawis Rep. Rafael Mariano noted in his 2011 statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) assets amounting to P46,946.73. Mariano had no liabilities last year.   The Office of the House Secretary-General on Thursday posted a summary of the congressmen’s SALN for 2011, all 284 of them, three days after the April 30 deadline for the submission of the document.    Former First Lady and Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos was second richest representative after Pacquiao, declaring a net worth of P932 million.   House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr., meanwhile, was third richest with a net worth of P726 million.   The top five poorest congressmen in terms of net worth, including Mariano, were all party-list representatives. They are: Bayan Muna Rep. Teodoro Casiño (P91,000), Kabataan Rep. Raymond Palatino (P195,000), Kalinga Rep. Abigail Faye Ferriol (P483,006.30), and Bayan Muna Rep.
