Aga Muhlach, Fuentebella in 2013 Camarines Sur face-off ?

After pledging allegiance to the Liberal Party before president Mar Roxas II on Friday, Actor Aga Muhlach announced his bid for the congressional seat in the  4th distric tof Camarines Sur, a province dominated by the Fuentebella political clan.   The award-winning actor is joining a long list of celebrities who entered politics, including former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada, presidential aspirant Fernando Poe Jr., Senate Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, and Congressman Lucy Torres-Gomez, among others.   Muhlach was with wife Charlene Gonzales, and friends director Joyce Bernal, and actors Cesar Montano and Bayani Agbayani.   Muhlach acted in over 60 movies, and several TV shows, including “Oki Doki Doc,” “Da Body En Da Guard,” and “OK Fine Whatever.”   Asked why run in Camarines Sur, the actor noted, "Taga-doon naman talaga ako. Kung may tutulungan ako, sabi ko dun na sa pinanggalingan ng aking tatay, ng aking ninuno.”   “Ang dami daming pwedeng mangyari sa distrito, kung maayos ang namamahala,” he added.   LP president Mar Roxas II administers the oath of allegiance to the party among the new recruits.Ready for politics   Moreover, Muhlach said he’s ready to face any of the Fuentebellas in the 2013 mid-term elections.   Incumbent Rep. Arnulfo Fuentebella is in his third-term, which means he could not run in 2013 as provided by the 1987 Constitution limiting elected officials to three consecutive terms in office.   "Malaki lang naman sila, because of the number of years they have served. Pero pag dating sa gawa, the people should decide,” Muhlach said.   The actor said he was ready to enter politics, but refuses to see it as “dirty.”   “Maraming nagsasabi sa akin na magulo diyan. Pero naisip ko din, madumi lang ang pulitika kapag madumi ang tao. Magulo ito kung makikigulo ka,” he said.   “OK naman po ako… OK na naman ang pamilya ko… Meron na rin naman akong naipon,” he added.   Politics isn’t his business   Muhlach said running for congress is his way of “paying it forward.   “Half of my life, I've been doing movies. Maraming blessings sa akin. Sabi ko, the next half of my life, I want to pay it forward. You want to give it back to the Filipino people," he said.   However, he said he would continue working in the movie industry as well. "Ang industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino ang nagbigay sa akin ng pagkain sa lamesa. ‘Yan ang hanap-buhay ko. Hindi ko 'yan pwedeng iwanan.   “Ang pulitika, hindi ko ‘yan paghahanap-buhayan. Bawal ‘yan. Kaya I'm just here to serve them,” he said.   Knocking on LP’s door   The anti-corruption drive of the Aquino administration inspired him to enter politics, said Muhlach. “When PNoy entered the picture, sabi ko, ‘Pwede pala… pwede palang labanan ang corruption.’   “I was the one who approached the Liberal Party. Ako ang nagsabi. Ako ang kumatok,” he added. — Photo by Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo/VS, GMA News
