VP Binay to present GPH-MILF framework pact at European meet

Vice President Jejomar Binay will drum up more international support for the framework peace agreement between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, when he represents the country at an international forum in Europe.    Binay left for Brussels Sunday night for the 2012 European Development Days (EDD) where he will represent President Benigno Aquino III.   He left via an Etihad Airways 421 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal I.   “Umaasa ako na sa pagtitipong ito, makakakalap tayo ng ibayong suporta sa ating mga hakbangin tungo sa kapayapaan, na siyang magdudulot ng pag-unlad ng ekonomiya at pagganda ng buhay ng ating mga kababayan sa Mindanao," he said in a note on his Facebook page.   At the forum, Binay will present the framework peace agreement that was signed by Philippine and MILF negotiators Monday afternoon in Malacañang.   It will be the first time the framework agreement will be presented in a global forum, Binay said in his Facebook note.   The framework agreement aims to replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with a political entity dubbed Bangsamoro.   Meanwhile, Binay said he will also hold talks with European officials on investment, transport and trade. — KBK, GMA News
