3 'abducted' Chinese drug suspects placed under BI's lookout list

The three Chinese drug suspects who were forcibly taken away by armed men while on their way to a court in Cavite have been put on the Bureau of Immigration's lookout list, an official said Thursday. “There was a clear directive to immigration officers to immediately secure the persons and the documents and to immediately report the presence of these individuals” if ever they are spotted at airports and seaports, said BI spokesperson Antonette Bucasas-Mangrobang. On Wednesday, provincial guards were bringing Li Lan Yan alias Jackson Dy, his wife Wang Li Na, and Li Tian Hua to their hearing when more or less 20 armed men forcibly took them away and disarmed the guards in Trece Martires City. Asked if the Chinese nationals were still in the country, Mangrobang said: “It was very difficult to ascertain their travel records [because] their names are very common and we are still ascertaining their dates of birth.” “The BI has already placed them in its look out list,” she added. The bureau has already produced copies of the foreigners’ pictures to be able to immediately identify them if ever they pass through the Immigration counter in any of the country’s international airports or seaports.
