Gloria Arroyo not casting vote on Monday

Former President and re-electionist Pampanga Rep. Gloria Arroyo is not likely to join Filipino voters in casting her vote in the midterm elections this Monday. A report by GMA TV's Lia Mañalac del Castillo quoted Arroyo's spokesperson as saying the former leader did not seek permission to vote on May 13. "Arroyo's spokesperson says, the former President didn't seek permission to be able to vote on Monday," she said on her Twitter account. An earlier report on dzBB said Arroyo did not make arrangements to ask the Sandiganbayan to allow her to go to her hometown Lubao in Pampanga to vote. Neither did she seek arrangements to have a Commission on Elections team go to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City so she can vote from there. The former leader has been under hospital arrest at the VMMC since December 2011 on charges of electoral sabotage. She also faces plunder charges at present. Arroyo is seeking a second term as representative of Pampanga's second legislative district. — LBG, GMA News
