At least two domestic flights between Manila and Mindanao were canceled Monday evening due to bad weather, the Department of Transportation and Communications said.

The flights 2P-525 (Manila to Cagayan de Oro) and 2P-526 (Cagayan de Oro to Manila) were cancelled due to bad weather in Cagayan de Oro, said the DOTC.

Earlier in the evening, PAGASA issued a thunderstorm advisory indicating rain over parts of Mindanao.

PAGASA said the areas affected by the thunderstorm included Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur (Gumitan), Compostela Valley (Boston, New Bataan) and nearby areas.

The state weather bureau advised residents in the affected areas to take precautions against heavy rain, strong winds, lightning and possible flash floods. — BM, GMA News
