UP Manila issues guidelines for UPCAT examinees

The University of the Philippines Manila on Friday issued guidelines for those taking the UP College Admission Test on August 3 and 4.

In posts on its Twitter account, UP Manila said the UPCAT venues include the Colleges of Public Health (CPH), Medicine (CM), and Dentistry (CD).

But this early, examinees were advised to expect heavy traffic.

"Expect heavy traffic in and around Ermita, Manila. If there is any rerouting to be made, we will announce it as soon as we get the data from the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau," it said.

On the exam days, examinees will enter via the CPH gate and exit via the CM gate.

Those taking the morning exams are to assemble at 6 to 6:30 a.m., while those taking the afternoon exams are to assemble from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

On the other hand, the examinees were advised not to leave expensive gadgets, bags, money or trinkets in their cars.

"Do not wear expensive jewelry and watches. Keep wallets and mobile phones in your ordinary bag (preferably can be easily held tightly by you or strapped to your body)," the school advised.

What to bring:

- Test permit
- No. 2 pencils, sharpened
- sharpener and eraser
- snacks - eating and drinking during exams will be permitted
- light sweater - all rooms have air conditioners

Parking:

Examinees cannot park at Padre Faura and Pedro Gil Streets, lest their cars be towed away.

They can park for a fee at Guerrero, Maria Orosa, Bocobo and Adriatico Streets. These areas have aides guarding the vehicles.

Also, they may park at Robinson's Place Ermita starting 10 a.m.
