Lacson names some senators on lists of Napoles, Luy

Former senator Panfilo Lacson on Monday night named some of the government officials supposedly on lists made by businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles and whistleblower Benhur Luy as among those involved in the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

According to an earlier report on "24 Oras," Lacson said 12 sitting senators, two Cabinet secretaries, and 90 members of the House of Representatives are on the lists provided by Napoles and Luy.

Meanwhile, cable news channel ANC via its Twitter account, said Lacson indicated four senators are on both lists: Senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Francis Escudero, Gregorio Honasan II, and Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano. Until now, these four were not implicated in the alleged scam involving lawmakers' Priority Development Assistance Fund allocations.

ANC also said Lacson mentioned Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, a former congressman of Batanes as being on the list.

Only Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile, Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. have so far been formally charged in criminal cases about the PDAF scam.

GMA News Online has sought official comment from the senators or their spokespersons, but they have yet to respond as of this posting.

Last Sunday, Lacson said the contents of the so-called Napoles list or 'Napolist' for which the Senate blue ribbon committee issued a subpoena Monday afternoon, should be discussed in executive session.

Lacson said making the contents of the list public could further erode public trust in the Senate. — Jonathan de Santos/ELR/KG, GMA News
