Brunei Sultan arrives in Manila for APEC Summit

Brunei Darussalam Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah arrived in Manila aaround 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night for the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference Leaders’ Meeting this week.

Brunei has been a member of APEC since 1989.

The APEC leaders’ meeting, a high profile gathering of leaders from 21 economies that include the United States, Japan, Russia, Australia and China, will be held from November 18 to 19 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

The word 'economies' is used to describe APEC members because the APEC cooperative process is predominantly concerned with trade and economic issues, with members engaging with one another as economic entities

For 2015, APEC will focus on inclusive and sustainable growth, looking in particular at the issues faced by small and medium enterprises, as well as trade in services. —NB, GMA News
