Roads in metro, Cavite, Central Luzon remain impassable

Rains and landslides caused by storms "Chedeng" and "Dodong" since Tuesday have left several roads in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon impassable to motorists. The National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said that as of 6 a.m. Thursday, several areas particularly in Cavite remained flooded and could not be opened to all vehicles. In Metro Manila, several roads remained impassable to vehicles in several areas in Makati City, including Pio del Pilar, San Antonio, Singkamas, and La Paz. In Manila, roads impassable to all vehicles included A. Bonifacio to Manila via Dimasalang; Lacson going to Nagtahan; Aurora Boulevard junction Cavite Street, Sta. Cruz; Maceda Street corner España. Not passable to light vehicles were Leonor Rivera Street going to SM San Lazaro, Cavite Street going to Monumento; España corner Laong Laan and Dapitan – Ma. Clara. In Quezon City, not passable to all vehicles were Mariblu, and E. Rodriguez to Alpha Kaliraya. Similarly impassable to all vehicles was Panghulo going to Dampalit, Obando, Malinta, Gen. Luna and portion of Merville Subdivision in Malabon City. Dampalit, Niyogan and Catmon were not passable to light vehicles. In San Juan, P. Manalo, Barangays (villages) Balon Bato, Batis, Tabing Ilog (Blumentritt) Salapan, San Pedro and Kalentong were not passable to all types of vehicles due to high water level. In the Ilocos region, all national road sections regionwide are passable to all types of vehicles. However, the Cervantes–Suyo Road in Ilocos Sur was not passable due to landslide. The road at Tined village in Santa, Ilocos Sur was not passable to light vehicles due to flooding. In Central Luzon, all national roads within the region were passable to all types of vehicles as of posting time, but Maculcul Bridge in San Narciso, Zambales was not passable to all types of vehicles as of 9 p.m. Wednesday. In Cavite, Bacoor Road (covering Barangays Niyog, Dulong Bayan and Ligas Uno) remained closed to all types of vehicles. Roads in Kawit (Poblacion, Gahak, Wakas, Tabon, Binacayan); Cavite City (Barangay 46 and San Atnonio) and Imus (Medition 2D, Alapan, and Kalsadang Bago) remained impassable to light vehicles due to knee-deep floods. Meanwhile in Tanza, roads (Julgan 7 and 8) remained closed due to waist-deep floods. Residents under the bridge in Bacoor-Zapote area are now being evacuated. In Baguio City, Kennon Road, Marcos Highway, Naguillan Road and other access roads leading to the province are open to traffic. - GMANews.TV
