At Duterte inauguration, Freddie Aguilar sings about 'tunay na pagbabago'

Folk musician Freddie Aguilar on Thursday performed the song “Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago”  during the inauguration rites of the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, whose campaign slogan was "change is coming."

Aguilar's performance of Duterte's campaign theme song was held at the Rizal Hall of Malacañan Palace, just before Duterte took his oath at exactly 12:00 p.m.

The song talked about Duterte battling the “madilim na kahapon” marked by corruption, crime, rape, and illegal drugs.

The song also called on Filipinos to unite behind Duterte to bring real change in the country.

In 2010, during the inauguration rites of Duterte's predecessor — President Benigno Simeon Aquino III — Noel Cabangon performed “Ako'y Isang Mabuting Pilipino” at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

Cabangon's song praised the qualities of good Filipinos who obey the rule of law and fight for justice. — Joseph Tristan Roxas/VVP, GMA News
