2 of 13 cops tagged by Kerwin as cohorts, protectors detained


Two of the 13 policemen tagged by suspected Eastern Visayas drug lord Kerwin Espinosa as his cohorts and drug protectors have placed in detention.

The  Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of the Police Regional Office 8 (RIDMD-8) said the two detained policemen are Chief Inspector Wilfredo Abordo and Police Officer 3 Dennis Toffefiel.

Eight other policemen tagged by Espinosa, son of slain Albuera mayor Rolando Espinosa, were on floating status and reassigned to the Regional Headquarters Support Group.

They were identified as Senior Inspector Rio Tan, Superintendent Joseywels Estopin, Chief Inspector Darryl Chua, Senior Inspector Eufrancio Javines, Chief Inspector Jonathan Camacho, Senior Police Officer 3 Eduardo Bituin, Senior Inspector Benjamin Lodo Jr and Senior Inspector Berniedie Magamay.

The RIDMD-8 also reported that one of the 13 policemen identified as Police Officer 3 Alfredo have been absent without leave.

"The above-named personnel under investigation [by the] Internal Affairs Service Region 8," the RIDMD-8 said in a statement.

The identities of two more policemen tagged by Espinosa -- Police Officer 3 Roberto Arafol and a certain Police Officer 1 Parac -- are still subject for validation.

The RIDMD-8 said that the names of Arafol and Parac were also included in the drug list provided by Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido, chief of the Albuera police. —ALG, GMA News
