Duterte finds inclusion on Forbes' list of most powerful people corny

President Rodrigo Duterte downplayed his inclusion among the most powerful leaders in the world as published by the Forbes Magazine this month.

"I dont' need it, I'm not powerful. I'm just running a country," he said in a press conference early Saturday at the Davao International Airport.

"Nakokornihan ako. I find it very corny. I do not even impose my leadership on the FIlipino people," he added.

The President was asked for his reaction after he was 70th in a list of 74 personalities from different countries prepared by Forbes Magazine.

Part of Duterte's profile stated in the magazine states that Duterte's tendency to say what he thinks, no matter how raw, also keeps him in the headlines.

He has referred to US President Barack Obama as a 'son of a whore' and used homophobic slurs to describe political opponents."

"I have no power. If the power, if it means killing, attributing to the 5,000 makes me a powerful man by killing Filipinos. That is a shame. I do not accept the title," said Duterte.

"No, I'm not (powerful). So what's the basis? Is killing 5,000 Filipinos it would make me powerful? You think I enjoy killing Filipinos?" he added. — BAP, GMA News
