Duterte: Bato offered to resign, I declined

President Rodrigo Duterte said Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa offered to resign on Saturday because of the Jee Ick Joo kidnap-slay.

"Bato offered to resign, but I declined," Duterte said in a late night press conference on Sunday night, following a command conference with top security officials in Malacañang.

He said that Dela Rosa told him that he wanted to resign because of Jee's killing right in his backyard, at Camp Crame.

"The place was just incidental," he said. —ALG, GMA News
