Duterte lambasts EU anew, calls it 'inutile'

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday continued his tirades against the European Union (EU) for criticizing his war on drugs.

In a speech delivered before new appointees and officers of the Philippine Councilors League in Malacañang, Duterte spewed invectives at the bloc.

“You know, if they would ask you how I would describe them? Just tell them that the mayor has said you’re a f—ing sh—,” he said.

“Mga inutil itong puti, p— ina niya, sa totoo lang,” he added.

Duterte was lashing out at the EU for supposedly suggesting to the Philippine government to put up clinics where the public can get their drug fix.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella had earlier clarified that it was only a country from the EU that suggested the drug clinics.

Duterte then lambasted the EU because of how its member countries conquered lands in other parts of the world.

“For after all, you are ahead of the industrialization age. Why? Because you conquered lands. You got the oil of the Arabs to build your industries way ahead than ours. Dito sa Far East, you conquered Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines,” he said.

“Got the best of our lands, lived off with the fat of the lands, and you think now that you are the educated one and you should be listened to. And you come up with this morality,” he added.

“Do not impose your, whatever it is, your values and everything, because we hate you for being a hypocrite. You are the incongruity of the times,” Duterte added.

Earlier this month, Duterte told the EU to "mind your own business" as he slammed the bloc for supposedly trying to impose their cultures and beliefs on the Philippines.

He also hit the EU for criticizing his call to re-impose the death penalty, saying "If I have the preference, I'll hang all of you."

The EU summoned the Philippines' envoy to Brussels on Monday to explain the "unacceptable" comments of Duterte. —KG/KBK, GMA News
