19-year-old PMA plebe succumbs to ulcer

A 19-year old new recruit at Philippine Military Academy died on Monday due to ulcer, PMA spokesperson Col. Reynaldo Balido said Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as 4th class cadet Erwin Christian Vergara from Alcala, Cagayan.

Balido said Vergara was admitted at Baguio General Hospital on April 25 and died six days later.

Vergara's cause of death was "hypovolemic shock secondary to upper gastrointestinal bleeding secondary to bleeding peptic ulcer disease." —NB, GMA News
