Fleeing residents dress up like ISIS bandits to escape snipers in Marawi

Some Marawi residents escaped the sights of Maute group snipers after he disguised himself as one of the ISIS-influenced bandits laying siege on the city.

According to Sandra Aguinaldo's report on "24 Oras," Ian Torres said he and his companions wore black clothes and masks to deceive the snipers who shoot fleeing civilians.

"Paglabas namin, nag-disguise kami na ISIS. Nagsuot kami ng itim, nagmaskara kami," Torres said.

Upon reaching a river, Torres said they removed their black garb lest they be mistaken for real ISIS-inspired bandits.

"Pagdating amin sa ilog hinubad namin yung mga suot namin na itim kasi baka tamaan kami ng mga sundalo," Torres said. —NB, GMA News
