Duterte appoints ex-barangay official Marjorie Jalosjos to DILG


Former Zamboanga Peninsula Liga ng mga Barangay regional president Marjorie Jalosjos has been named as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

In a press statement on Wednesday, DILG officer-in-charge Catalino Cuy sworn in Jalosjos who will become the agency's point person for Special Concerns.

Cuy said Jalosjos will also head the DILG's human resources department and the Killed and Wounded in Action One-Stop Assistance Program.

The DILG chief said President Rodrigo Duterte signed the appointment papers of Jalosjos last June 27.

Cuy said Jalosjos’ experience in the grassroots level will help her fulfill her duties at the DILG.

“I believe that her youthful passion and enthusiasm in serving the people will be her compass to properly implement and carryout the programs of the department under her wing,” Cuy said.

Jalosjos served as chairwoman of Barangay Patawag in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

She also served as ex-officio board member and provincial president of the Liga ng mga Barangay.

Jalosjos is the daughter-in-law of former Zamboanga del Norte representative Romeo Jalosjos. —ALG, GMA News
