Duterte appoints ‘Bogart the Explorer’, Baste’s co-host, to MTRCB


President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed comedian Marco Ho also known as Bogart the Explorer and former Iligan City Mayor Franklin Quijano to government posts.

Ho was appointed as a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification board on July 12.

He hails from Davao City and co-hosts a travel show with presidential son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.

Quijano received two appointments: as administrator and chief executive officer of the Philippine Veterans Investment Development Corporation-Industrial Authority and as a member of the board of directors of the same institution.

The former Iligan City mayor is also campaigning for a federal form of government. Duterte signed his appointment letter on July 14.

Aside from Ho and Quijano, here are Duterte’s other appointees in July:

  • Alberto R. Dalusung III – member, representing renewable energy developers, National Renewable Energy Board, Department of Energy
  • Karol Mark Ramirez Yee – executive director IV, Commission on Higher Education
  • Omar Laquindanum Tonsay – director III, Bureau of Customs, Department of Finance
  • Othello Estropigan Dalanon – director I, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Finance
  • Hilda Fantastico-Ibuyan – member, Board of Pardons and Parole, Department of Justice
  • Juan Miguel Transmonte Cuna – undersecretary, Department of Environment and Natural Resources
  • Edmundo F. Gammad – member, Civil Aeronautics Board, Department of Transportation
  • Virgilio Liwanag Carreon Jr. – director II, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Department of Labor and Employment
  • Marah Victoria S. Querol – member, in ex-officio capacity, committee on awards for outstanding public officials and employees (Dangal ng Bayan Award), Civil Service Commission
  • Rizalina N. Justol - member, in ex-officio capacity, committee on awards for outstanding public officials and employees (Dangal ng Bayan Award), Civil Service Commission
