No need for insults, Kiko tells Duterte after ‘gago’ remark vs. Noynoy

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Thursday chided President Rodrigo Duterte for cursing former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III over the latter’s criticisms of the administration’s campaign against illegal drugs.

In a text message to reporters, Pangilinan said the government’s efforts to check the spread of illegal drugs should be from a perspective of a health problem, not a law enforcement problem.

“Dagdag pa hindi naman kailangan murahin at insultuhin ang kapwa natin kung hindi natin sina-sangayunan ang sinasabi nito,” Pangilinan said.

Pangilinan is a party mate of Aquino under the former ruling Liberal Party (LP).

Senator Grace Poe, for her part, reminded Duterte to keep it “SPG” or Strong Parental Guidance, one of the classification ratings she introduced during her stint with the MTRCB.

“Style niya na yan pero siyempre, pag pinapakinggan ng mga bata gagayahin; sang-ayon ba tayo dun?” Poe said in an interview.

“Basta, alam na ninyo kung ano ang mali; so paalala lang, SPG,” she said.

On Wednesday, Duterte lashed out at Aquino for saying that his war on drugs has yet to produce results.

"Sige, pumasok ka sa droga PNoy, ‘pag hindi kita pinutulan ng ulo, buang ka. Anong walang nangyari? Gago ka," Duterte said.

He said his administration achieved in only one year what Aquino tried to do in his entire term of six years.

"Kasi sabi niya, walang nangyari sa campaign. Tingnan naman niya, in all of his six years, he was only able to seize or catch about 3,045 kilos of shabu. Ako, dito ngayon sa akin, just one year, I have already seized about 2,000–nearing 3,000 sa entire six years niya," he said. — RSJ/KVD, GMA News
