Duterte meets Gibo in one-on-one Palace meeting

President Rodrigo Duterte had a one-on-one meeting with former Defense Secretary Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro Jr. in Malacañang on Tuesday, but details on what was discussed were not yet available as of posting time.

Malacañang also did not release any photos and videos of the meeting.

Teodoro, a former lawmaker and an unsuccessful presidential candidate in 2010, was Duterte's first choice to head the Department of National Defense under his administration, but Teodoro turned down the offer. The post was eventually given to Delfin Lorenzana.

Duterte also met with Teodoro's wife, Monica Louise "Nikki" Prieto-Teodoro, herself a former lawmaker, who made a donation to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The deed of donation was received by AFP chief General Eduardo Año.
