Human rights commission investigating 555 alleged EJK cases


The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) is investigating 555 cases of alleged extrajudicial killings, according to a report on Balitanghali.

GMA News' Raffy Tima reported that the 555 cases being investigated occurred within the period of May 10, 2016 to June 30, 2017, and involves 705 victims.

Data from the CHR shows that 301 were killed during police operations while 254 were victims of vigilante killings.

Central Luzon was reported to have the most number of EJKs, with 78 cases and 103 victims. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
