DEFENDS CRYING BATO

Duterte slams Hontiveros: You think 2 killings make a policy? Napakabobo naman

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday defended Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa for being emotional at a Senate hearing earlier in the day, while being interpellated by Senator Risa Hontiveros.

Duterte slammed Hontiveros for insinuating that the deaths of young people and minors including 17-year-old Kian delos Santos and 19-year-old Carl Angelo Arnaiz showed there is a state policy to kill crime suspects.

“Do you think two killings even if it’s illegal would make a policy? Dalawang patay. Palagay na natin pinatay, murder,” he said.

“I ask Hontiveros: Is that already a policy? Is that a baseline of a policy? Napakabobo naman niya,” he added.

Duterte said Dela Rosa cried during the Senate hearing because he was hurt.

“Kaya nga umiyak ang tao nga kasi it’s an insult na sabihin it’s a policy of the police to kill. There are so many criminal minds, even in the Liberal Party,” he said.

“Sila may record ng plunder and also killing. You make a comparison,” he added. — MDM, GMA News
