PCOO’S OWN SPOX?

Abella: Lorraine Badoy as Andanar’s spokesperson, why not?

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella on Thursday said that it would be “excellent” for Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar to get his own mouthpiece.

Abella made the remark after it was reported that Department of Social Welfare and Development Asec. Lorraine Badoy would be the spokesperson of the PCOO as well as the undersecretary for new media.

However, the presidential spokesperson during a press briefing in Malacañang could not confirm Badoy’s supposed new position, pending the release of the official appointment paper.

He also made it clear that she would only be speaking for Andanar.

“Excellent! Why not? He [Andanar] feels the need to have a spokesperson, then why not?” Abella said.

Asked how many spokespersons the Palace need, Abella replied: “I don’t know. I’m the only one here.”

DSWD officer-in-charge Undersecretary Emmanuel Leyco on Wednesday confirmed that Badoy was in the process of turning over her responsibilities at the DSWS in preparation for her new post in PCOO.

Andanar also confirmed that the PCOO undersecretary for new media and spokesperson posts were indeed offered to Badoy. — MDM, GMA News
