Malaysian now leading Maute-ISIS bandits still in Marawi, source says

Foreign terrorist Amin Bacu is now the leader of the more than 20 Maute-ISIS bandits still fighting the soldiers in a small portion of Marawi City, a source told GMA News on Friday.

According to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras", Bacu has taken over following the deaths of bandit leaders Isnilon Hapilon, Omar Maute and Malaysian Dr. Mahmud Ahmad.

A report on GMA News TV's "State of the Nation" said that Bacu is a Malaysian who went to the country via the southern backdoor in 2010.

The remaining bandits are now reportedly confined to just three structures in Marawi. The clashes are expected to end before the end of the month.

The military is now clearing the city of aerial bombs that failed to detonate as well as improved explosive devices. —NB, GMA News
