Duterte, Putin meet for the third time on the sidelines of APEC 2017

President Rodrigo Duterte and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Presidential spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque shared a photo of the meeting between the two leaders.

In his tweets, GMA News' Joseph Morong said Duterte thanked Putin for Russia's help in Marawi City. Putin also told him that is a common problem.

This is the third time that Duterte and Putin had a bilateral meeting.

The first time was in Lima, Peru on the sidelines of the AELM. The second one was in Moscow, Russia before Duterte left for Manila after cutting his official visit short because of the ISIS-inspired Maute group's attack on Marawi City. — Trisha Macas/RSJ, GMA News
