Cambodian PM arrives in Clark for 31st ASEAN Summit

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen arrived at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga on Saturday afternoon for the 31st Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Meetings.

At exactly 1:26 p.m., Hun Sen is the first leader to arrive for the week-long summit to be held in Manila and Pampanga.

The Cambodian premier, a former Khmer Rouge soldier, rose to power in 1985, making him one of the longest-serving leaders in the world.

Hun Sen was reported to have launched an anti-drug campaign in Cambodia shortly after a state visit by Duterte. His rule is increasingly being criticized as “openly authoritarian.” —with Nicole-Anne Lagrimas/ALG, GMA News
