Senators meet with Chinese premier on strengthening China-PHL relations
A group of senators on Wednesday met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on strengthening the relationship of the Philippines and China.
“[We met] on how to further strengthen China-PH relations, like activating parliament to parliament relations,” Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III said in a text message.
Also present during the meeting were Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, and Senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Miguel Zubiri and Manny Pacquiao.

On Twitter, Gatchalian said they had a “great discussion on bilateral relations” with Li.
Pacquiao, also on Twitter, called Li “one of the most powerful leaders in the world.”
“We have the common goal to strengthen the international relationship of our countries,” the neophyte senator said.

Also present during the meeting was Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua.
Li arrived in Manila Sunday night to attend the 31st ASEAN Summit and other related meetings held November 13 to 14 as a dialogue partner.
Li is also in the Philippines for an official visit. He is scheduled to have an expanded bilateral meeting with Duterte in Malacanang Wednesday afternoon. —ALG, GMA News
