Gadon: ‘Boxing match’ over, Sereno will be impeached

For lawyer Lorenzo "Larry" Gadon, he has already proven his point in his allegations against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, and the "boxing match" is over.

This he predicted on Wednesday as Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita de Castro testified on the House Committee on Justice's deliberation on the impeachment complaint against Sereno.

In an ambush interview, Gadon said he is delighted and "more than vindicated" by the testimony of De Castro.

"What Justice de Castro has said in her testimony confirmed everything that I have stated in my complaint," Gadon told reporters.

"And not only that, she even clarified deeper into the incidents involving the creation of the RCAO (Regional Court Administration Office) and the JDO (Judiciary Decentralized Office)," he added.

De Castro's testimony, Gadon said, further clarified the incident which points out that Sereno has committed a culpable violation of the Constitution.

"In fact, sinasabi ko nga tapos na yung boxing e. Tinatamad na nga ko e gusto ko na umuwi dahil I've already proven my point, with just one ground," he said.

"This ground which was attested by Justice De Castro, I'm sure impeached na siya (Sereno) dito," he added.

Gadon reiterated her call to Sereno to resign from her post, as he expects that she will be further be put to question in the next hearings when the issues of her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth and other falsification charges are discussed.

"In fact, by this time baka inatake na sa puso si Justice Sereno niyan," he added.

But lawyer Jojo Lacanilao, one of Sereno's spokespersons who was present in the proceedings, shrugged off the developments in the hearing, saying there was nothing new in them.

"'Yung narinig natin kanina dun sa heairng wala namang bago, alam na natin yun, wala namang bombshell na parang lumaabas ngayon kasi na-leak na lahat ng dokumento na yan eh. Diniscuss na yun," he said.

Lacanilao maintained that what De Castro has testified on are internal issues of the Supreme Court.

"Wala naman tayo nakitang reso na tinigil na yung RCAO, so yung mga allegations, yung mga disagreement ni Justice De Castro kay CJ Sereno, internal na matter yun e," he said.
