Duterte appoints UP MassComm dean to UNESCO PHL commission


University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication dean Elena Enriquez Pernia has been appointed to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) National Commission of the Philippines.

President Rodrigo Duterte on November 27 appointed Pernia as a member of the commission to represent non-government organizations of the communication and information committee.

The wife of Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia, Elena Pernia will have a term of three years. 

Duterte also reappointed Manila Times chairman emeritus Dante Ang as his special envoy for international public relations. His term will end on April 2018. Ang was first appointed to the post in May.
