PHL Canine Club denounces death of over 30 dogs

The Philippine Canine Club Inc. (PCCI) denounced the death of over 30 dogs which died of dehydration and heat stroke while being transported to a show in Marikina City.

According to a Sunday report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend", some 40 dogs were transported in a closed van to a dog show in Marikina City on December 2.

The dogs were then found unconscious when they arrived at the PCCI Activity Center in Marikina.

While some of the dogs were revived and brought to a nearby veterinary clinic, several of them died the following day.

PCCI has suspended the exhibitor which placed the dogs inside the van. It was also investigating the matter further. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
