Urduja leaves a swath of destruction in parts of Vis-Min

Storm Urduja's strong winds and heavy rains have left a wide area of destruction in parts of Eastern Visayas and Mindanao.

In Almeria town in Biliran, water supply and electricity were not yet back as of Sunday morning.

Roads were flooded, bridges collapsed, street posts toppled, houses and vehicles destroyed as the storm barreled through the Visayas and  northern Mindanao.

Urduja weakened into a tropical depression as it moved to Masbate after crossing Samar provinces before noon Sunday, weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Urduja was in the vicinity of Mobo town in Masbate province. —Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LBG, GMA News
