PCSO earmarks P10M for Urduja victims


The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office earmarked P10 million to aid residents affected by Tropical Storm Urduja.

PCSO general manager Alexander Balutan said this will be taken from their savings, according to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development is continuing to distribute relief goods to affected residents.

At least P30 million has been earmarked for the relief operations in Samar, Leyte, and Biliran which were severely affected by the storm.

The DSWD is targeting to complete almost five million food packs to victims.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, 41 people died due to Urduja.

Almost 100,000 individuals were evacuated due to flooding. —KG, GMA News
