Mark Anthony Fernandez released from jail, home for Christmas

Former action star Mark Anthony Fernandez is released from jail just in time for Christmas, reports said on Saturday.

According to a report by entertainment website PEP.ph, Mark Anthony's release from Angeles City Jail on December 22 was confirmed, with a source from PEP Alerts also saying that his case on transportation of illegal drugs has already been dismissed.

Mark Anthony and his family refused to comment on the matter and wants to spend the Christmas quietly with his loved ones.

In a Facebook post, Fernandez's former girlfriend Claudine Barretto confirmed the news. "I'm so so happy Mark Anthony Fernandez is finally home," her post read.

She also posted the good news on Instagram.

Fernandez was arrested last October at a police checkpoint in Angeles City, Pampanga, for allegedly possessing a kilo of marijuana.
