More than 10,000 homicide cases yet to be cleared —PNP data


A total of 10,721 homicide cases under investigation have yet to be cleared since 2016, data from the Philippine National Police showed.

PNP said a total of 20,514 homicide incidents have been recorded since July 1, 2016 to February 11, 2018. Of this number, 2,413 were drug-related, 8,587 were non-drug related while the motive for 9,514 incidents have yet to be determined.

Data also showed that out of the total number of homicide incidents, 9,793 cases were resolved with 5,599 of the accused arrested and 4,194 accused still at large.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,744 homicide cases were either cleared or filed in court with 1,986 accused have been arrested and 758 accused still at-large.

Murder cases, on the other hand, that were either cleared or filed in courts reached 7,049 with 3,613 accused arrested and 3,436 accused still at large. —KG, GMA News
