Noynoy Aquino, Abad attend House panel inquiry into Dengvaxia mess
Former President Benigno Aquino III and former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad on Monday attended the House inquiry into the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine.
Aquino’s attendance came after the approval of Buhay party-list Representative Lito Atienza’s motion to invite him to the joint hearing of the House Committees on Good Government and Public Accountability and Health into the issue.

It was during Aquino's term as president when the vaccination program was first implemented.
The program was first conducted in April 2016, just a few months before Aquino ended his six-year term as president.
Aquino also attended the Senate inquiry into the same issue last December, where he said he would “try and allay certain fears” on the controversy.
Last February 5, the joint House panels resumed its inquiry into the matter,
which was attended by incumbent Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and former Health Secretary Janette Garin. —KG, GMA News
