Duterte continues to enjoy 'very good' rating with +56 net satisfaction —SWS


President Rodrigo Duterte continues to enjoy "very good" satisfaction rating among Filipinos, the latest survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.

In its poll conducted on March 23 to 27, 70 percent of the respondents said they were satisfied with his governance, 14 percent were dissatisfied, while 17 percent were still undecided.

This gave Duterte a net satisfaction rating of +56, a drop of two points from his +58 rating in December 2017.

The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao (sampling error margins of ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao).

According to the SWS, the drop was due to the decline of 11 points in Balance Luzon and one point in Metro Manila, combined with increases of 12 points in the Visayas and two points in Mindanao.

Duterte's rating in Visayas remained "very good," with +65 (75 percent, satisfied; nine percent dissatisfied) in the latest survey.

His rating stayed "excellent" in Mindanao at +82 (87 percent, satisfied; five percent, dissatisfied), an increase of two points from +80 in December.

Duterte's rating fell by one point from "very good" to "good" in Balance Luzon at +39 (58 percent, satisfied; 19 percent, dissatisfied), down 11 points from his +50 rating in the previous SWS poll.

His rating stayed "very good" in Metro Manila at +54 (72 percent, satisfied; 18 percent, dissatisfied).

Rural and urban net satisfaction rating for Duterte stayed at "very good."

Rural net satisfaction rating was at +56 (69 percent, satisfied; 13 percent, dissatisfied) while the urban net satisfaction rating was also at +56 (70 percent, satisfied, 14 percent, dissatisfied).

Duterte also enjoyed "very good" rating among men at +58 (70 percent, satisfied; 13 percent, dissatisfied).

Among women, the President also enjoyed "very good" rating with +54 (69 percent, satisfied; 15 percent, dissatisfied) in the latest survey.

Duterte's net satisfaction rating also remained "very good" among 25 to 34-year-olds at +69 (80 percent, satisfied; 11 percent, dissatisfied).

It also stayed "very good" among 45 to 54-year-olds, at +56 (67 percent, satisfied; 12 percent, dissatisfied) in the March survey.

Among 35 to 44-year-olds, Duterte's rating also got "very good" with +52 (67 percent, satisfied; 15 percent, dissatisfied).

For 55-year-old and above, Duterte had a "very good" rating at +54 (67 percent, satisfied, 13 percent dissatisfied), the SWS said.

Meanwhile, his rating was "good" for those 18 to 24-year-olds with +48 (68 percent, satisfied; 20 percent, dissatisfied).

The President's net satisfaction rating stayed "very good" among college graduates, at +69 (80 percent, satisfied; 11 percent, dissatisfied) in March 2018.

He also obtained "very good" ratings among high school graduates, elementary school graduates, and non-elementary school graduates with satisfaction ratings of +54 (68 percent, satisfied; 14 percent, dissatisfied); +53 (69 percent, satisfied; 15 percent, dissatisfied); and +58 (70 percent, satisfied; 12 percent, dissatisfied) respectively.

The SWS rates a +70 net satisfaction rating as "excellent"; +50 to +69 was "very good"; +30 to +49 was "good"; +10 to +29 rates as "moderate", +9 to -9 was "neutral"; -10 to -29 was "poor"; -30 to -49 was "bad"; -50 to -69 was "very bad"; and -70 and below was "execrable". —Anna Felicia Bajo/JST, GMA News
