Trillanes taunts Tulfos amid Teo’s resignation

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday appeared to taunt members of the Tulfo family of media personalities after their sister Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo resigned over the questioned P60 million worth of advertisements aired in 2017 over PTV.

The Commission on Audit earlier flagged the P60 million paid to Ben Tulfo's Bitag Media Unlimited for DOT advertisements aired on its "Kilos Pronto" program.

Teo has said that the DOT didn't pay any production house for its ads, saying that its deal was with PTV.

Ben, on the other hand, vouched for the regularity of the deal saying everything about the ad spend was above-board.

According to dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo, Trillanes said the Tulfos could still continue their public service programs  but added that the titles should be revised.

Trillanes played on the titles of the Tulfos' programs saying they should be changed to "Nabitag si Tulfo (Tulfo got caught)" or "Isumbong mo si Tulfo (Accuse Tulfo)."

The senator, a staunch critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, had long been at the receiving end of the Tulfos' commentaries.

The Tulfo brothers include TV anchormen Ben, Erwin and Raffy, and longtime newspaperman Mon. —NB, GMA News
