How SC Justices voted on Sereno quo warranto petition


The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday granted the quo warranto petition, voting 8-6, against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida seeking the invalidation of her appointment to the country's highest judiciary post in 2012.

Voting for:

  • Andres Reyes Jr.

Voting against:

  • Marvic Leonen
  • Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa
  • Presbitero Velasco

The Court also ruled, 9-5, that quo warranto is the proper remedy for the Sereno case.
