Duterte attends granddaughter Isabelle’s senior high school graduation

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday took the time off his busy schedule to attend the senior high school graduation of his granddaughter Isabelle Lovelie Duterte.

Isabelle, daughter of former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte, was among the first batch of senior high school graduates of San Beda College Alabang which held the commencement exercises at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

She graduated under the humanities and social sciences strand.

Apart from the President, Isabelle's parents, Paolo and Lovelie Sangkola-Sumera, were present during the ceremony, according to Malacañang.

Isabelle and Paolo earlier had a public spat after the teenager made angry posts on social media regarding an alleged mauling incident involving a close friend. 

"Duterte, who is also a San Beda alumnus, allowed several students to take a selfie with him," the Palace said in a news release. 

 "Before the end of the commencement exercises, the President went up to the stage and greeted the officers and staff of San Beda College Alabang," it said. — MDM, GMA News
