Damage from Habagat nears P300-M mark —NDRRMC


Damage to infrastructure and agriculture sectors due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by weather disturbances in recent days has already reached over P250 million.

Mark Makalalad reported on Super Radyo dzBB that records from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) shows that as of the Sunday, damage to infrastructure and agriculture nationwide stood at P259,130,611.

Most affected regions include Regions 1, 2, 3, Calabarzon (4-A), National Capital Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Across the country, 156 houses have been reported destroyed, of which nine were totally and 147 partially damaged.

Also, 30 road sections and four bridges in Luzon were affected, particularly in Regions 1, 3, 6 and CAR.

Transportation in these areas have been affected, NDRRMC records indicated.—LBG, GMA News
