Duterte has hospital checkup on SONA eve

The Palace confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte went to the hospital Sunday night, a day before the President's State of the Nation Address, to have a medical checkup.

According to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Duterte had gone to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center for the checkup "before rehearsing for the SONA."

"He spent about an hour and a half for the routine examination," added Roque.

"He was declared to be in good health."

Speculation on Duterte's health began in June 2017, when the President was not seen in public for almost a week.

Earlier that month, Duterte vomited during a flight from Seoul to Manila.

Roque at the time explained that the vomiting was due to a migraine—a recurring problem with Duterte that was related to a motorcycle crash. —DVM/KG, GMA News
