Malacañang lauds Con-com for completing sessions on federalism

Malacañang on Sunday expressed its appreciation to the Consultative Committee to Review the 1987 Constitution (Con-com) for the completion of its draft federal Constitution.

"We thank the members of the Consultative Commission (Con-com) for completing its task of studying and reviewing the provisions of the 1987 Constitution," presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Jr. said in a statement.

The statement comes a day after the Con-com closed its 18th and final en banc session regarding the shift to a federal system of government.

"Drafting a new Constitution is no easy task but it has been done and accomplished.  It is now up to Congress to do its part in finalizing the mode of revising our Constitution. Good job to the Con-com," said Roque.

To recall, the Con-com in July released its final official copy of the draft federal Constitution.
