Arroyo shows proof of her lingering ailment

Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo showed proof that she still suffers from a medical condition that she had to wear a neck brace and use a wheelchair after undergoing a series of operations about eight year ago.

Macapagal-Arroyo has multilevel cervical spondylosis, which affects the upper part of the vertebral column called the cervical spine.

In an interview with GMA News' Arnold Clavio, she showed the surgery scars on her back to dispel rumors that her ailment was not real or were just made-up.

"Nand'yan pa, nand'yan pa. Nandu'n ka naman sa ospital nu'ng kakaopera ko di ba?" she told Clavio.

"Oh so, Ikaw nga unang nagpakita sa buong mundo 'yung gaano kalaki 'yung ... kahaba 'yung operasyon sa likod," she added.

Macapagal-Arroyo even turned her back to show the scars on her back after undergoing surgery in 2011.

"Oh! Oh! Oh! Ayan! Ayan! Napakita mo na noon eh!" she said, adding that the metal points on her back are in place to ease the neck pain. — BAP, GMA News
