VP Robredo disputes PNP's claim Naga City ranks 5th in criminality

Vice President Leni Robredo has refuted the Philippine National Police report that Naga City is 5th in criminality in the country.

Robredo, in a post on Twitter, dismissed the PNP report as "misinformation," Super Radyo dzBB's Jonathan Andal reported Saturday morning.

Robredo laid down her home city's "real rank" in terms of criminality, saying that on nationwide scale Naga City ranked 34th in murder, 24th-26th in homicide,  29th in rape, 11th in robbery, and 6th in theft, the report said.

PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde had said that Naga City consistently ranked fifth among the major cities in the country in terms of crime volume in the first semester of the last two years.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said that the city was once a "hotbed of shabu," and later, Malacañang challenged the city's officials to disprove the allegation.
