Joma to reciprocate if Duterte reveals true health condition

Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairman Jose Maria "Joma" Sison on Saturday challenged President Rodrigo Duterte to reveal the true state of his health, and he would respond by presenting his own medical certificate.

"I challenge Duterte to submit himself to medical examination by the best independent diagnosticians of the Philippine General Hospital in order to establish whether he is physically and mentally fit for his position," Sison said in statement.

And given Duterte's claims that Sison himself had colon cancer, the communist leader vowed to show his "true and verifiable medical certification" on the state of his health as soon as Duterte showed his own medical certification.

While admitting that his earlier claim that Duterte had fallen into a coma had actually come from the President's direction, Sison insisted that the chief executive was ill.

Sison alleged the Duterte had been forced to appear in public to refute the claims of illness, though his appearance revealed "an unusually darkened face and he looked tired and dispirited."

"It was obvious that he had to interrupt his disappearance and rest. He needs plenty of rest and the best way to get this is to resign from his position," quipped the CPP's leader. — DVM, GMA News
