Trillanes vows to get back at those who 'persecute' him

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV vowed Thursday to run after government officials and lawyers who insist on pushing for the revocation of his amnesty and for his arrest.

“Hahabulin ko ‘yang mga ‘yan if they continue to insist itong mga ginagawa nilang ito,” Trillanes made the warning at a press conference, adding that he will file cases when President Rodrigo Duterte is no longer in power.

“Kapag wala na si Duterte nobody will protect them… 'Pag dating ng panahon, pag wala na si Duterte, hahabulin ko talaga sila kapag they insist dito sa ginawa nilang kalokohan,” he said.

Duterte, in Proclamation 572, ordered the revocation of the amnesty awarded to Trillanes by the previous administration for his alleged failure to apply for it and admit guilt. The senator denied the accusation and presented documents showing that he complied with the requirements for the grant of amnesty.

Government officials, however, insisted that amnesty can be revoked.

Among those Trillanes mentioned are Solicitor General Jose Calida, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, Defense spokesperson Director Arsenio Andolong, Acting Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon, and Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera.

“Sila ngayon ‘yung gagawa ng krimen e talagang mananagot kayo after kasi si Duterte hindi ito tatagal. Itong sina Guevarra, Calida, kakaripas to ng takbo pagkatapos ni Duterte kasi hindi naman sila sasaluhin niyan. Kasi even si Duterte hahabulin, andaming krimen nun,” he said.

Trillanes said they should be disbarred for using their position to persecuting people.

“They should be disbarred from practicing the legal profession kasi they are supposed to oversee or protect  rights, my rights. Kahit kalaban mo sa pulitika o hindi, huwag mo dapat gagamitin ‘yung posisyon mo o ‘yung batas to persecute people,” Trillanes said.

According ot him, he is not a vindictive kind of person as he did run after those who persecute him when he was released after seven years in prison, but said he cannot guarantee the same to his detractors this time.

“Nung nakalabas ako wala akong hinabol dun sa mga nagpersecute sa akin. Hinayaan ko sila but I cannot guarantee the same pag nangyari ito ulit tapos umikot ‘yung mundo. Hindi ako vindictive na tao but yung mga kagaya nitong nina Fadullon na lang, pinersecute kami nito pero hinayaan namin. Ngayon palpak na palpak na hihirit pa.”

“These lawyers who are behind this sina Navera, Fadullon, Guevarra, Calida tapos ‘yung Andolong sa DND,  Hahabulin ko talaga kayo dito,” he added.

He also warned those in the military not to join the fray.

“Pati dito sa AFP, ako pine-preempt ko lang. Huwag na kayong sumawsaw dito, pulitika ito, ginagamit lang kayo.  ‘Yung  magpapagamit, ‘yung magsasalta diyan talagang hahabulin ko itong mga ito. Kakaririn ko kayo.” —LBG, GMA News
