Senate hopeful files then tears COC

A certain Geremy Geroy filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the Senate in the 2019 polls only to tear it apart a few minutes later, saying his call to fellow Filipinos is more important that his Senate bid.

At this point, Geroy tore his COC.

The Omnibus Election Code defines nuisance candidates as those who file COC “in mockery of the election process; to cause confusion among the voters by the similarity of the names of the registered candidates or by other circumstances or acts which clearly demonstrate that the candidate has no bona fide intention to run for the office for which the COC has been filed.” — MDM, GMA News
