Ace Durano gets second gov't post as tourism authority head

MANILA, Philippines - Department of Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano got his second tourism-related post after President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo named him general manager of the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA). Presidential spokesman Ignacio Bunye on Saturday said Durano would hold the two posts in a concurrent capacity, after the term of Robert Dean Barbers as head of the PTA expired. "Ang termino ng dating GM Robert Dean Barbers nag-expire na (Former GM Barbers' term has expired)," Bunye said on government-run dzRB radio. Meanwhile, there is no appointment yet for the newly created Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), according to Bunye. The law requires the appointment of the agency's head by May 4. The CAA was created to address aviation security concerns raised months ago by the United States when it downgraded the Philippines' aviation security classification. - GMANews.TV
